A Brief History of American Volunteers

Posted on July 4, 2012. Filed under: volunteer appreciation |

America is a nation deeply rooted in the ethic of volunteerism. Throughout our nation’s history, we have volunteered our time to care for friends and neighbors when times are tough. We have served alongside one another with the goal of building a brighter future for our children. We have responded to tragedy by standing together, united by our compassion for the well-being of others.

As we celebrate the birth of this great country, it seems only fitting to honor this long history of giving back and working together, for it is our life-long commitment to service that proves to be a fundamental component of who we are as people, as neighbors and as Americans.
