If you’ve been volunteering for a while and think that you might be ready to take the next step, we want to encourage you to consider becoming a project leader! As a leader you have the opportunity to inspire other volunteers as you build a strong, consistent relationship with the clients you’re serving. Leadership also has practical benefits, helping you gain project management and managerial skills.
Our leaders are supported by Chicago Cares staff members, which means that we promise to be with you every step of the way, providing training and encouragement. We hope that you’ll consider exploring leadership at one of the projects listed below.
If your schedule requires a more flexible commitment to leadership, we encourage you to consider becoming a back-up leader. As a back-up leader, you’re on call in case the regularly scheduled leader is unable to attend the project due to illness or scheduling concerns. To find out about additional back-up leader opportunities, contact Adrienne Cherry.
