We’re excited to partner with Chicago Public Schools and the Jefferson Awards for Public Service to host the 6th annual Chicago Youth Service Day this Saturday, April 25. Students from across the city will gather to to perform innovative service projects, recognize achievements, & rally for nonviolence in Chicago.

In the morning, students take part in innovative, interactive service projects across the city, engaging with seniors, children and peers. Projects include beautifying urban landscapes, collaborating with community organizations and raising awareness for issues they care about.

After spending the morning serving, the students get together at a rally bringing together 1,500 young people from across the city. The rally will include a live musical performance by FM Supreme and Kuumba Lynx, a call-to- action live tweet with David Otunga, and Jefferson Awards presented by Danny Bender.

We’ll be there and sharing content on social media throughout the day. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram to tune in, or catch the whole conversation with #CYSD2015. To learn more about Chicago Youth Service Day, visit the event website.
